I am highlighting some of my favorite events that happen in Breckenridge throughout the year. The best way to stay informed is to log on to this website and check the "news section" of the home page.
September 17-19 2010 16th Annual Oktoberfest
This is a fun event that is usually held on the second weekend of September. This is a party weekend and the premiere event in the high country. Friday evening kicks off the event with the brewmaster's dinner, Saturday the event really gets going with Paulander and other German brews, Bavarian Food and live music. Don't forget your lederhosen!
In addition, there is the ski show going on in the Riverwalk Center where you can get the best buys on equipment, clothing and other items. The aspen trees are becoming very colorful at this time.

December 4, 2010 The Lighting of Breckenridge
This is so much fun! All of the town businesses put up the holiday lights and light up the night for the holidays! Enjoy hot cocoa, the lighting of the town tree, Santa and his live reindeer, and a free concert from the Summit Choral Society.
December 5-December 12, 2010 The Hartford Ski Spectacular
This is undoubtedly one of the coolest events on the mountain. This is the nations largest winter sports festival for people with physical disabilities. This week long event is now in its 19th year. The event includes a-learn to ski program, races, youth development camp and a celebrity race event. �It's so much fun seeing how the participants do so well!
December 16-19 2010 Winter Dew Tour- This is a mountain sporting event that takes place in Breckenridge and two other ski towns. The best winter athletes in the world compete in free skiing and snowboarding. This is a blast to watch!
January 9-January 15, 2011 Ullr Fest
In its 43rd year, this week celebrates the mythical Norse God of Snow. The week starts with the Ullympics then the giant bonfire happens and the week ends with the infamous
parade down Main Street. You never know what you will see, but it will be fun!
January 25- February 6, 2011 International Snow Sculpture Competition
Teams from around the world and a local team start with a 50 ton block of compressed snow and work their magic carving unique works of art. You can watch the start, the progress, the finished product and the competition.� Meet the winners and enjoy a kids competition also. This is a huge event drawing many people to Breckenridge.
April 2008 Breckenridge Ski Resort puts on the Spring Massive
This celebration of spring lasts almost the whole month of April. There are concerts, kids activities, film shoots and a whole lot more going on. Many of the town restaurants have special 3 course dinners for locals and guests. The weather will be great!
July 4, 2011� Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks Display
This is a very popular event that starts summer in Breckenridge. There is a parade down Main Street, live music at the Riverwalk Center and BBQ's everywhere. The "Firecracker 50" mile bike race starts after the parade ends. In the evening, the National Repertory Orchestra perform patriotic songs followed by an outstanding fireworks display (weather permitting).
August 2011 Breckenridge Jazz and Wine Festival
Renowned Jazz Musicians from across the United States gather here for a music filled weekend! The setting is located at Main Street Station and the Village at Breckenridge. There are stages set up on Maggie Pond and in different locations at the two properties.
This is a very fun event and the water setting makes it special. Website
October Month of Rest and Great Deals!
Most of the local restaurants will start a 2 for 1 month long celebration.
November Ski Season opens!�
The resorts open on the second or third week of the month for another season of skiing, riding and celebrations.
