Town of Breckenridge, Colorado

Breckenridge - Founded in the late 1850's as a gold-mining town. "Breck" has many historical buildings, many of them are registered as National Historic sites. Located only 98 miles from the Denver international airport and 100 miles from Colorado Springs, the town and ski area represent the most accessible resort in Colorado. The town has resort-style architecture with log construction, chalets, and historical Victorian homes mixed with cabins, ranches, and everything in-between. Most visitors describe the town as charming. We have over 200 shops, restaurants, and nightclubs which cater to every taste and lifestyle.

Skiing and boarding are absolutely "world class!" Breckenridge resort rates in the top ten ski resorts in the country and is loaded with wooded ski trails. Our snow is superfine powder and we get a lot of it! In some winters it snows over 350 inches! If you don't ski, there is sledding, dog sledding, snowmobiling, showshoeing, ice-skating, and dinner sleigh rides, a Nordic center, town tours, and an active mine where the kids can mine for gold. During the summer enjoy hiking, mountain biking in the national forest, and paved bike trails that go to every town in the county and to Vail. You can also go backpacking, horseback riding, camping, enjoy the summer-long music festivals, live theatre, golfing on a Jack Nicholas-designed 27 hole public course, ride an alpine slide down the mountain, enter a human maze, enjoy kayaking, fly fishing, in line skating, and, of course, shopping at the unique stores in town.
Owning a home in Summit County gives you a great asset and a fun place to gather for your family.
